Social Enterprise is rapidly becoming a more well-known and respected enterprise model. Central and local Government recognise the need to engage and nurture this sector.

2011

We are consulting with Shropshire Council to assist them in developing a protocol to enable Social Enterprises to tender for and deliver services within the County. Recently we had a meeting with them and you can see a summary >>HERE<

2010

At a recent meeting the MCE Board decided that we were very well placed to become a significant partner across the Marches (particularly within Shropshire, Herefordshire & Gloucestershire). Our strength is on-the-ground delivery of support to this sector. We are now looking to expand our membership to reflect these new challenges.

We can see that local authorities will wish to establish routes to engage with the sector and that the more strategic organisations in the area will see a grass-roots partner as being valuable as new roles, resposibilities and visions become clearer.
